BiographyEvelyn Hargett Galán is an independent consultant for international education based in Erbil, Iraq. She has spent the last 19 years in education, the majority of those years in international education. As a lifelong learner, Evelyn strives to continually improve her knowledge of best practice through hands-on experience. Working with language learners has taught her to seek out strategies that led to continuous improvement of her practice as a lifelong learner in order to meet the learning needs of her students. She is passionate about concept-based inquiry for thinking classrooms for all learners. All students can inquire to build conceptual understandings even as they simultaneously develop the language to express them. Evelyn is happily married and living with her husband in Erbil, Iraq. She had the pleasure of raising her two children to adulthood who are now living independently; her son lives in Mexico and her daughter in the USA.
